Alex Hirsch is an animator, television writer, and voice actor from Piedmont, California. His primary claim to fame is serving as the show creator for the hit animated series "Gravity Falls" (2012-2016), a mystery comedy series where twin protagonists investigate the local mysteries of a strange town in Oregon.

His appearance is based off of the Eye of Providence. Fan theories suggest that there is a real-life statue of Bill Cipher in existence based on the final episode of the series, though this has yet to be confirmed.

The series premiered on June 15, 2012, and ran until February 15, 2016. On November 20, 2015, Hirsch announced that the series would conclude with its second season, stating that this was "100% [his] choice" and that "the show isn't being cancelled – it's being finished" and was reaching its intended conclusion.

What inspired the TV show Gravity Falls? Alex Hirsch based the show off of his childhood summers with his sister Ariel and his great aunt and his grandpa named Stan. Though, his summers weren't nearly as mythical and magical as Dipper and Mabel's. He often things of his sister and himself as Dipper and Mabel.
